No Bake Granola Bars

U perform – No Bake Granola Bars

This is another one of our quick and easy, tasty snacks that you are going to love.  All you need is a large bowl, there is no cooking involved, so why not get the children involved in making these granola bars.  They are so easy to make, and can be made vegan and gluten free.

Preparation time: 20 minutes

Makes 10-12 individual bars, depending on how generous you are when filling the cups them. 

Ingredients:

2 large overripe bananas (240g total, without peel)

100g rolled oats (Use GF oats, if needed)

100g of your favourite nuts (chopped up)

2 tbsp raw honey or any other sweetener you use, (if using a granulated sweetener add 2 tbsp of liquid such as almond milk)

2 tbsp natural peanut butter or other nut or seed butter

2 tbsp semi-sweet chocolate chips (make sure to use vegan, if desired)

2 tbsp dried cranberries or other dried fruit

2 - 4 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder

 

Instructions:

Line a cupcake pan with paper liners, or use a silicone cupcake tray for easy removal.

Mash the bananas.  Add wet ingredients and cocoa powder and mix well.  Add all other ingredients, mix well then press into prepared cupcake liners or tray.

Freeze at least 60 minutes before enjoying.

We like keeping them in the freezer for easy snacks.  

 

Notes:

Since these are no bake granola bars feel free to experiment, there's not much you can do to ruin these.

Little pieces of fresh fruit are a great addition, any nuts, seeds even coconut are delicious add-ins.
